• Knowledge and understanding of the main ship dimensions and what seaworthiness quality of the ship implies. • Knowledge of ship types characteristics and operational purposes. • Capacity to use the International Code of Signals. • Knowledge of the main deck naval equipment. • Knowledge, complete and understanding of the Rules of the Road, as well as the principles of safe execution of a navigational watch. • Fulfilling navigational duties at operational level. Operational duties in supervising the operation of a ship and the protection of the people onboard. • Showing and applying a rigorous, efficient and responsible attitude about the activity, having an ethic composition in solving problems and decision making. • Utilization of the human relation techniques in a multicultural crew, on different hierarchical levels, written or oral communication, efficient collaboration with specialists in different domains.
